Civic and Cultural Activities

Mr. Clary is President of the Nevada Arts Advocates, a 33-year-old statewide organization that supports all of the arts in Nevada. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Philharmonic serving on for most of its first ten years also and served as its General Counsel.

He is an Honorary Board member of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras (LVYO) having been so honored for his support of LVYO's 4th-tier musical ensemble, the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic orchestra, which helped ensure the 2008 summer concert European tour in Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague by the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic; also with Mr. Clary's support, in 2009 LVYO received the Nevada Governor's Arts Award from the Nevada Arts Council. In 2007 Mr. Clary received an award at the 45th Anniversary Gala Concert of the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society (the oldest performing arts organization in Nevada) "for his 13 years as a member and officer of the Board of Trustees and for his contribution as an outstanding singer and generous patron;" he also received citations from Nevada's Governor and Lt. Governor as well as members of the Nevada Congressional delegation, and City of Las Vegas Major Oscar Goodman issued a proclamation designating November 11, 2007 as "Patrick C. Clary Day."

Mr. Clary was founder and was also honored as President/Chairman Emeritus of the Nevada Committee on Foreign Relations (NCFR), which was an affiliate of the American Committees on Foreign Relations (ACFR) in Washington, D.C.; Mr. Clary was also a member of ACFR's national Board of Directors. When the Las Vegas World Affairs Council was merged into NCFR in 2008, Mr. Clary became Executive Chairman of the resulting Nevada World Affairs Council in Las Vegas.

He is currently a key member of the Nevada Advisory Committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition in Washington, D. C., a prestigious organization which promotes diplomacy and development over war in U.S. foreign policy.

Long active in politics since his youth, Mr. Clary was a Democratic candidate for Congress in Nevada's Second Congressional District in 1994, after which he became General Counsel of the Democratic Party of Nevada. In 2008 he was a member of the Steering Committee of then U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden's Nevada Presidential Campaign and later an Obama delegate to the Clark County and Nevada State Democratic Conventions
