Biography on PATRICK C. CLARY

PATRICK
C. CLARY is Executive Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors
of the Nevada World Affairs Council in Las Vegas (NWAC), which is
affiliated with the World Affairs Councils of America. He was a
founder and President/Chairman Emeritus of the Nevada Committee
on Foreign Relations, into which the Las Vegas World Affairs Council
was merged in August 2008, thereby establishing NWAC. He was a member
of the Board of Directors of The American Committees on Foreign
Relations 2002-2008. Mr. Clary attended the Democratic National
Convention in Denver, Colorado last year where Senators Obama and
Biden were nominated.
An activist in the Democratic Party since his youth, Mr. Clary was
a Democratic candidate in Nevada's Second Congressional District
in 1994 with the support of the Clinton-Gore Administration and
shortly thereafter was appointed and served as General Counsel of
the Nevada State Democratic Party. Named Nevada State Chairman of
the Students of Kennedy-Johnson in 1960, 48 years later he was on
the Nevada steering committee for U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden's
Presidential campaign last year and then an Obama delegate to both
the county and state Democratic conventions after serving as chairman
of the Democratic caucus in his precinct.
Also active in the arts since his youth, Mr. Clary was a founding
director and served on the Board of Trustees of The Las Vegas Philharmonic
for most of its first ten years, also serving as its General Counsel,
2006-2008. On November 11, 2007, Mr. Clary received an award at
the 45th Anniversary Gala Concert of the Southern Nevada Musical
Arts Society "for his 13 years as a member and officer of the
Board of Trustees and for his contribution as an outstanding singer
and generous patron." He was also recognized last year for
his support of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras, which helped ensure
the 2008 summer concert European tour to Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague
by the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic; with Mr. Clary's further support,
the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras was recently selected to receive
the Governor's Arts Award by the Nevada Arts Council. After serving
the last two years on the Board of Directors of the 31-year-old
Nevada Arts Advocates, on December 10, 2008 Mr. Clary was elected
and now serves as its President.
A native Las Vegan, Mr. Clary graduated with honors from Las Vegas
High School in 1960, attended the University of Nevada in Reno,
1960-1962, where he was a highly successful intercollegiate debater,
and received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from
American University in Washington, D. C. in 1965 and 1967, respectively.
The senior alumnus of the Lionel Sawyer law firm, he has been the
sole officer, director and stockholder of Patrick C. Clary, Chartered,
a Professional Corporation, since 1980, as the successor to Perry
& Clary, and has practiced law in Nevada for 41 years.
